Teaching

Training is geared toward explaining and making people understand new information and allows us to move from "I can't do it" to "I can do it," while coaching does not teach but rather allows us to move from "I can do it" to "I do it the best way."

Learning vs. Change

Training is about the transmission and acquisition of new knowledge or skills. The focus is therefore on teaching by a trainer and learning by the participant.

The trainer must choose the training topics that best suit the participants’ training needs and requirements. He is responsible for explaining well, making people understand, and transferring know-how.

The trainer transmits theoretical or practical knowledge; he aims to make people learn a competence, a particular skill or even a new way of working; his goal is for the participant or learner to internalize what is transmitted in the classroom.

He possesses specific knowledge and skills in the training area that he must be able to translate into spendable and transferable content.

To succeed he uses “TELLING”: he shares content with those in front of him in a face-to-face or experiential way (think, for example, of role playing exercises).
